As negotiators head to Egypt for renewed talks on a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release, officials are cautioning against expectations of a swift agreement.

The complex negotiations come amid mounting pressure from families of hostages and escalating military developments on the ground.

President Donald Trump has urged all parties to “MOVE FAST” toward a deal, pushing for a “first phase” agreement this week. However, Hamas is reportedly preparing additional demands, including the release of high-profile detainees, which could complicate progress.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is said to be balancing these negotiations with efforts to appease his right-wing coalition partners.

On Sunday, thousands gathered in Tel Aviv to mark two years since the October 7, 2023, Nova music festival massacre, where Hamas militants killed dozens and took hostages. Survivors and bereaved families used the memorial to call for unity and demand the safe return of those still held in Gaza.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high in Gaza City. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that troops from the 401st Armored Brigade recently discovered long-range rockets primed for launch toward central Israel. The launchers were neutralized, and additional caches of weapons and military equipment were seized.

In a separate development, climate activist Greta Thunberg is set to be deported from Israel after being detained for attempting to breach the Gaza blockade. Her removal is scheduled for Monday on a flight to Athens.

The situation remains fluid, with diplomatic efforts, public pressure, and military operations unfolding simultaneously. While hopes for a breakthrough persist, officials warn that the road to resolution may be long and fraught with setbacks.
